Frazer Memorial United Church

A big church but still a place to belong

Since being at Frazer, I have grown a great deal personally, and found a place to belong for myself as well as my wife and children. The music and preaching are great (we usually attend the Contemporary Worship with John Schmidt) but even more important have been the small groups. We found a young couples Sunday School class and have made very close friends--it's great to have other couples the same age and enjoy having our children grow up together. I've been a part of a couple of men's small groups that have really challenged me, and my wife loves the women's groups she is a part of. Our four year old loves preschool at Frazer during the week as well as the programs offered for kids on Sundays, and we feel safe with our 16-month in the nursery knowing he is being well loved and cared for by the staff and volunteers. A lot of people I talk to don't think they would fit in at Frazer because it is so big, but the truth for us has been that big just means they have a lot of opportunities to connect with people in small groups.
