There just is not much words can do for Chris's. It's an unforgettable experience that just cannot be described by words. In a run down shop in the capital of the south, it really says alot about what this area is about. When you first walk in, you will be greeted with magazines and perhaps one of the worst smells you have ever experienced. You will walk past the kitchen area and grab a booth. Don't look at the walls. Don't look go to the restroom. Don't even question the quality of your food because just know that you are about to tase the best hot dog you will ever taste. Combo's with 2 dogs or hamburgers(or a mix) should be plenty of food. Try it any way you want, just MAKE SURE you try the sauce. And enjoy your appetizer: your fries.Chris's is one of the places in Alabama that anyone passing through should try. It will make you actually want to go the Montgomery just for a hot dog.

Downtown lunch goers have been enjoying Chris' Hot Dogs for decades now, and most would say a visit to Montgomery wouldn't be complete without a Chris' Dog. While the menu seems typical of a lunch counter type establishment (hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, etc.) the food is very good, and has a flavor unique to the establishment. The restaurant itself it seems, has not been remodelled since the 50s, witnessed by its dark interior and outdated decorations. Service is ok, usually provided by grandmotherly types whom one feels one should be helping carry the trays. Parking is horrible, be prepared to hoof it from one of the garages. Recommendation: Definitely try it - but order take out and eat it at the Court Square Fountain down the block.
